Canadian Seniors win gold

Keith Prentice, Lockhart Steele, Robin Aitken and Tommy Fleming, with alternate Archie Craig, won the bronze medals at the World Senior Championships in Dunedin. The Scots lost to Paul Pustovar's USA in an extra end in the semifinal, but beat Switzerland in the third place decider. Canada beat USA in the final.

Marion Craig, Rhona Fleming, Catherine Raeburn and Anne Malcolm, with alternate Helen Drummond, lost their semifinal against Switzerland 7-6 , and went down in the bronze medal game to Sweden. The women's championship was won by Canada.
