A little bit of the sun today encouraged me to have my first look round the garden this new season! Just how it has survived the most severe winter in the past seven years remains to be seen. Anyway, it'll be a few weeks yet before it gets its spring tidy up.
It is encouraging to see the first signs of new life. Several clumps of snowdrops are just coming to their best.
I moved in to the cottage more than seven years ago, in late December. I had no idea then what, if anything, the garden would reveal. It was a thrill to discover that it had been well planted with bulbs. The north facing slope has remained pretty much as I found it - and these snowdrops have enjoyed being left to do their own thing!
