I described recently (here) the story of the blackbirds nesting in my shed. I hadn't got round to clearing away the old nest. Just as well. What I did not realise is that blackbirds may have two, three or even four broods! I have learned a lot about blackbird nesting from the RSPB website here. That's mum above, sitting on four eggs this time.
She didn't seem to mind me taking her photo today, but I think I'll adopt the same practice as last month, and just keep out the shed as much as possible.
And tune in to Springwatch for the next three weeks! Actually, the Springwatch website just happens to have a webcam on a blackbird nest, see here.
